Breaking : Nursing student raped in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra: Auto driver mixed intoxicant in water, victim said- when she regained consciousness her clothes were torn

After the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, a case of rape of a nursing college student has come to light in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Here an auto driver made the victim unconscious by mixing intoxicants and took her to the forest and raped her. The incident happened on Monday (26 August).

The victim is 19 years old. After regaining consciousness, she called her sister and told her about the incident. As soon as the incident came to light, people in Ratnagiri started protesting.

SP Jayshree Gaikwad took information about the incident from the victim in the hospital and got a case registered. CCTV footage is being checked to identify the auto driver. A CCTV footage of the auto has also surfaced on social media.

The victim said that the auto driver had given her water to drink.
The nursing student said, "It was a holiday on Sunday (August 25). I went to my home in Devrukh. As usual, I reached Ratnagiri from Devrukh by the 6 am bus on Monday (August 26). I got down at Salvi stop in Ratnagiri at around 7 am.

I took an auto rickshaw to go to college. On the way, the auto driver gave me water, after drinking which I fell unconscious. When I regained consciousness, I saw that all my belongings were scattered in the forest. My clothes were torn. I called my sister and informed her about the incident.

The victim , who reached the hospital with the help of a biker,
told the police that after the incident she somehow reached the main road. There she took help from a biker and reached her flat, from where she was taken to the hospital.
