Bomb blast in Murshidabad before the election, one CPIM member died
There was bloodshed in Murshidabad before the vote. One leftist worker was killed in the incident. United Front activists blocked the road in protest of the incident on Monday night. Congress-Left and ISF cadres-supporters blocked the Nishchintopur intersection in Hariharpara. It is learned that the slain CPM activist was Abul Kashem Ali of Khosalpur. He has long been known as a leftist activist. In this election, the United Front was campaigning for the Congress candidate. He was allegedly threatened for this. He was allegedly hit by a bomb while returning home last night. He was pronounced dead at the hospital in critical condition.
The United Front blocked the road in protest of the incident. They demanded appropriate action against the culprits. Congress candidate arrives at the scene. The police assured the blockade was lifted.
Hariharpara police have registered a case of murder in the incident. Seven people have been arrested in the incident. The detainees are known to be TMC activists.
Voting for this seat will take place on April 29. Earlier, CPM activists had spread tension in the area.
