Govt to Twitter : Don't teach the world's largest democracy what to do, follow the rules.
Unhappy with the attitude of Twitter on the new guidelines made on social media, the IT Ministry has clearly said that it should not teach the world's largest democracy what we have to do. Follow the rules instead of misleading the Twitter issue.
The IT Ministry said that Twitter's response is like forcibly imposing its conditions on the world's largest democratic country. Twitter, through its statement, has refused to follow the guidelines that the Indian government has prepared to stop criminal activities.

The ministry said that democracy and freedom of speech have been there for centuries in India. Here it is not the responsibility of any organization like Twitter to protect it. Twitter does not have transparent policies on freedom of speech. If many people's accounts are suspended, many posts are deleted.
On behalf of the government, it was said that the right to make laws and policies is a special right of a country. Whereas Twitter is just a social media site. There should be no interference in deciding what India's legal policies should be.
