Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget speech continues.  Inaugurating the budget session, Finance Minister said,

"The first part of this budget is - Health and Wellbeing. We want to focus on prevention, treatment and well being.

With a budget of Rs 64,180 crore, the Prime Minister Self-Reliant Healthy India Scheme will start.

The budget will also be for the treatment of new diseases. This will help the wellness centers in 70 thousand villages.

Critical care hospitals will be started in 602 districts.

The National Center for Disease Control will be strengthened.

Integrated Health Information Portal will be started so that public health to connect labs.

15 health emergency operation centers will be started.

9 bio safety level 3 labs will be started. 

100% broad gauge electrification by the end of 2023, FDI in insurance sector will increase from 49% to 74%.

The Finance Minister has announced to spend Rs 2.27 lakh crore on road infrastructure in the four states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bengal and Assam this year.

The focus has been more on Tamil Nadu than Bengal.
