Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar advised cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to exercise caution while speaking about any other field as many people have reacted sharply to the stand taken by Indian celebrities on farmers’ protest.He further said that if senior leaders of the government like PM, Defence Minister and Nitin Gadkari come forward and speak to the agitating farmers, a solution can be found.
If senior leaders take initiative, farmer leaders also need to sit with them, the NCP chief said.

Earlier today, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said there was a reason why MEA reacted to the remarks of some celebrities on the protest by farmer unions and quipped that they spoke “on matters on which they obviously didn't know very much”.
Kerala Youth Congress leaders had poured black oil on a cut-out of Tendulkar in Kochi in protest against the legendary batsman's tweet. Angered by the cricketer's tweet, Keralites flooded Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova's social media pages with messages, apologising for trolling her way back in 2015 after she in an interview said she had no idea who the cricketing icon was.
